The First Ever Sowambe Awards

Sowambe a Nigerian-owned social media lifestyle brand is proud to present their first ever Sowambe awards. Co-founded by Loy Okezie and Francis Oghuma in July 2010, The aim of this award is to give recognisance to social media talents, agencies, early adopters, latest trends, brands and celebs using social media within Africa.

Sowambe is simply an acronym for – Social Web Addicts in Media, Business and Entertainment.

In the yoruba language, ‘sowambe?’ means “are you there?”. So they are asking: Are you there? Are you in the social media space? Are you a social web addict?
