2012 Year of Android

This year was the upsurge of android. They scared the hell of out of Iphone this year. They actually almost gave them a run for their name. But you know Ios still have their faithfuls in the US even though Android won a lot of converts.

In Nigeria here, ofcourse peeps still dey ping so tey RIM, despite their Grim situation globally, still saw a glimmer of hope thus opened a blackberry outlet in Nigeria on October.

Android has come to stay, with so many apps to experiment and very good ones which are free from ads. Android will still win more converts as long as smartphone is concerned except an idea comes along and sweeps everyone away.

New App gives Early Warning of Mean Messages

Computer scientists have developed a mobile phone app that can predict the tone of incoming messages after a user reads them so that they don't get caught off guard by angry or hostile words. The android phone app “stress @ work” created at the University of Portsmouth colour codes messages so people have time to prepare themselves. It integrates itself with the social media sites like facebook, twitter and the rest. Nice messages are coded green while negative messages are designated red and neutral is blue.

It is designed in English Language. So if you inbox on my facebook or DM me on twitter an insult in Igala language, I might still have that heart attack.

The developers hope to make this app available for free downloading from the android marketplace by the end of June and on other platforms within the next academic year.

Spinlet is a mobile music site where u can download songs. It is available for symbian, blackberry and android platforms.

 
To get the music of your choice, all you have to do is pay with your phone credit. The least price is #100. That is quite expensive for a single.

Their target is the hippy generation that is from 13-30. It is not like they wouldn't gain if they made the price lower. The demand would would even be high and they break even. Tell me why should I pay when I could download it for free. All Im saying is look at the market again and see what needs changing. Good initiative though.

The latest Blackberry Porsche is in Nigeria. So the scramble by the bb lovers to cling to this latest addition has began. I tell you it is the swagger that differentiates from the BB bold. Technically there is really nothing new. We Naijans love swagger though.

Blackberry Price war

GSM networks in Nigeria have embarked on a BlackBerry price war to encourage mobile subscribers to convert to their networks.

In an apparent response to other networks in the country, Airtel Nigeria has introduced a new a new BlackBerry bundle – BConnected.
The BConnected bundle offers BlackBerry Messenging (BBM), as well as access to social networks, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. It also offers access to monthly, weekly or daily plans on the expiration of a 30-day free trial period.
The bundle is priced at N1,580 (about $11) monthly and excludes e-mail services which most other BlackBerry services include. The current price is significantly less than the cost of the standard service which includes an e-mail service.
The standard service is priced between N2 800 and N3 000 (about $20) by various other networks, including Airtel.
